Oddly enough, tonight's post mostly includes feet. Don't be alarmed, it's not really about feet exactly, more so about things that have to do with feet...I guess you'll just have to read to find out.
For my title, I simply googled feet quotes and found one I liked. I feel like this might be a trend I continue. I chose this quote because I love the idea of flying. It's one thing I immensely wish I could do, it always makes me think about that scene in Ever After when Drew Barrymore is on a cliff and the Prince asks her if there is anything that she couldn't do and she responds, "fly." Strange I know, but I can't explain the inner-workings of my mind.
Also, I enjoy Frida Kahlo, she may have had a sad life, but she was an interesting lady with many interesting paintings and stories. Anyway, enjoy the post! It's basically about a few of the things that I love and the things that make me, me.
To start: I LOVE THESE SHOES!

I can't even begin to share with you the awesomeness and character that encompass these shoes. First off, this is the third pair I have gone through and thankfully my friend just returned from Hawaii with another pair of these glorious sandals (as requested). It's not that they wear easily, it's simply that I literally wear them everyday in the summertime and as far into fall as I can get. You have to know as well that I personally go through shoes ridiculously fast, don't ask me why, I don't know, but I can say that I have worn many a shoes down to the point where I had to throw them away (which is REALLY hard for me because for some reason I like to create emotional connections with many of my shoes.) Also, I've never been a real big flip-flop fan. I don't like the way they feel between my toes and the sound they make as you walk. I find them boring as well. Don't be offended if you like flip-flops, I simply prefer these sandals. Some things that I love about this particular pair are the paint splotches from a paint fight my freshman year. Also, annoying as it may be, I secretly love the super loud *swoooosh* noise that the right shoe makes as I step on it and force air out of the tiny hole in the side of the shoe. While this is fine and dandy in a crowded area with various noises to mask the sound, it makes for some interesting looks as you walk through a quiet hallway, or the library, or behind some cute guy...
As you look at my amazing sandals, I'm sure my neon toes caught your eye (I swear I could stop traffic with these babies.) You can thank my awesome sister for that. This brings me to another thing that I love. I LOVE having my toenails painted, they feel naked and ugly without paint and some crazy design on them, and what better than some awesome toes peeping out of my awesome sandals (: My sisters and I all share a love for elaborate toenail painting designs. Give us a toothpick and some good nail polish and I promise you won't be disappointed with the end result. One of my personal favorites is the annual flag toenails for
Memorial Day and the Fourth of July. All of the girls in my family get together and my three sisters and I slave away over countless toes while watching a movie. This year we watched North and South (looove, I literally re-watched the ending three times. No joke.) Another favorite design is our classic red with white polka-dot. It's basically my go to nail design. Now that I have bored you with my toenail paint obsession, I should probably finish up this extra long post.
Overall, these things that I love bring me back to an ultimate love that I have: summer. With the sun shining, popsicles, and my painted toenails poking out of my obnoxious sandals, summer can thrive and I can easily find countless things to be grateful for and multiple reasons to enjoy everything surrounding me.
