Sundays at the Arch House

Sundays have become more steadily my favorite day. I feel now that I am older, I realize how much of a physically, spiritually, and mentally rejuvenating day it is. I try my best not to do homework (definitely doesn't always happen that way) and because of this, after church, my roommates and I basically cook and do whatever the weather permits. (:

Today was an especially great day. It was the Brigham City Temple dedication and we had the opportunity to attend the broadcast at our local stake center. What an amazing experience and beautiful service.

After this, we came home and made a big spread and had friends and neighbors over and ate on our back patio (it's becoming a habit of ours). I absolutely love it. The company, the food, the weather, the laughter. It all comes together to create a perfect Sunday afternoon. Lately, following the clean-up of these large meals, my roommates and I usually become guinea pigs to my roommate Lexi's art project. It's always fun and interesting. Last week produced this:
This week she photographed our hair in dirt. Sadly, I don't have pictures of that. But afterwards we decided to climb on our roof. So much fun. Have I mentioned how much I love living in a house instead of apartments? Well let me enlighten you, I love love love it.

Don't mind my face.

Good, fun, Sunday festivities.

So this weekend was my friend Aaron's surprise party. This kid is most definitely one of my favorite people ever. He is probably the funniest person you will ever meet. He is constantly laughing and making jokes, which I love. There is never a dull moment with him around. But seriously. He loves teaching you how to do things and he is willing to probably do anything you ask him to. To get a sense of this kid and his humor, here's a video of him and his dorm freshman year at BYU, be sure to check out the second episode, hilarious. I'm just too lazy to post it. (: (love and miss all those boys):
Favorite part of the surprise party was his mom seeing all of us girls (all of our guy friends are on missions) and in her Asian voice say "all girls?" Funniest thing ever. And then basically reminiscing and taking Aaron snipe hunting. (I guess they don't do that at scout camp, haha)

"All-girl" surprise party picture (:

Overall, despite crazy work and school schedules and turmoils of feelings, there is always time to simply enjoy the happenings happening around you. And I just have to accept that, it is what it is. Terrible saying. Here's something better:

we are here
to laugh
at the odds
and live our lives
so well that
death
will tremble
to take us

Sorry for the scrambled post, I'm kind of all over the place tonight. But I hope your Sunday was as great as mine, good luck tomorrow. Why are Mondays so awful?
